Hardware Engineering Intern
Hardware EngineeringMandatory internship (m/f/d)Berlin · Hybrid
Build the collar that decodes dog emotions in real time. You’ll work on the physical prototype — sensor integration, PCB iterations, mechanical design. Hardware that actually ends up on a dog.
What you'll do
- Sensor integration and testing (BMI160 IMU, microphone setup, audio frontend)
- PCB design iterations and bring-up of new boards
- Power management and battery-life optimization (critical for wearables)
- Mechanical concept and material selection for a product a dog can wear robustly
- Supplier communication, RFQs, component sourcing
What you'll learn
- How a concept actually becomes real consumer hardware — the real path, not the textbook one
- The hardware-AI crossover: what your device offers in power and compute decides what AI can run on it
- Direct exposure to manufacturing reality (Asia sourcing, DFM, etc.)
Who you'll work with
Our hardware lead Yogesh and Benedikt. You’ll see prototype revisions, touch hardware, learn what makes a wearable production-ready.
Stack
KiCad/Altium, embedded C, BLE, lab equipment, CAD basics a plus
