What exactly is PetGPT?

Voicari is an AI-powered smart wearable for dogs, more precisely an emotion wearable for dogs that recognizes your dog's emotional state from vocalizations, vital signs and movement. PetGPT is the chat feature of the accompanying app. No separate device, no separate purchase, no chart you have to decode first.

Think of PetGPT as someone who kept an eye on your dog all day and gives you a short report in the evening. Except this report is based on your dog's actual readings, not on a gut feeling.

How does PetGPT work?

PetGPT is the last of three steps.

1. The wearable captures. It recognizes your dog's bark events and measures heart rate, respiration, activity and sleep. On top of that comes the GPS location.

2. Voicari interprets. From vocalizations and vital data together, Voicari recognizes one of 24 emotional states across 7 core emotional families, from Happiness/Play through Curiosity/Seeking to Fear. The model was trained on more than 1.16 million data points from more than 30,228 dogs across more than 110 breeds.

3. PetGPT translates. When you ask a question, PetGPT draws on exactly this data and turns it into an answer in plain language, with context: what was different today than usual? When was your dog most restless? What calmed him down again?

What can you ask PetGPT?

Anything that can be answered from the captured data. A few everyday examples:

• "How was my dog today while I was at the office?"
• "Was he anxious this afternoon, or just tired?"
• "How was his heart rate this week compared to the last four weeks?"
• "Has his activity changed over the last few days?"
• "How has he been sleeping since we moved?"

An answer might look like this: "Between 9 and 12, Bruno was mostly calm and slept a lot. Around 2 pm there was a short phase with an elevated heart rate and several bark events, which Voicari classified as nervous. From 2:20 pm on, he was relaxed again. Overall a quiet day, similar to the last three weekdays."

All of this information also sits in your dashboard. The difference: PetGPT takes the reading, comparing and interpreting off your hands. Numbers and states become an answer you can grasp on the go.

Where PetGPT stops and where professional help begins

PetGPT is a companion, not a replacement for your vet or a certified behavior consultant. At Voicari, heart rate and respiration are wellness insights about how your dog is doing, not a medical diagnosis. If PetGPT notices a change, for example a resting heart rate that has been elevated for several days, that is a reason to look more closely and, in doubt, to see a vet. What lies behind it is for the practice to clarify, not the chat in your app.

And one more thing belongs to being honest here: Voicari never intervenes in your dog's behavior. The Voicari device is not a shock, anti-bark or training collar. It listens, interprets and tells you about it. Nothing is corrected or punished.

Is PetGPT as safe as the rest of Voicari?

Yes. PetGPT only accesses your dog's data that Voicari captures anyway, and for that data the same architecture applies as everywhere at Voicari: only recognized bark events leave the device. Ambient sound and human speech are discarded on the device and never transmitted. The emotion analysis runs on Voicari servers. Voicari is designed in Berlin and GDPR-compliant.

What does PetGPT cost, and when do you get it?
